autumn dawn
by DenisLurix

In the early still
of a crisp
autumn morning,
the air sits -
slowly
cooling,
as the earth
here
turns back, again
to face
the sun.

Birds sit
waiting,
some to sleep,
most to wake.

Dew
forms, on
anything it can.

Plants
let out the last
of their night breath
and prepare
to breathe
in
for the day.

Underground,
ants and worms
turn.

The quiet silence
between
night and day
gives way,
as night
drifts to sleep
and
day awakes.
