I was 17yo and it was party time after the completion of a week of performances of Dracula Spectacular.
Well ... we had one evening performance to go and then it was a midnight start to the party for a 3 or 4am finish.
In preparation for the evening ahead, I went to have a shower but upon looking in the mirror, decided my checks were too full of that hard clear fluid stuff and it had to go.
Big mistake!
After quite a while of trying to squeeze the life out of these things, I gave up and had a shower, but when I came out, I had two great big rosy checks that were full of so many red dots that it was like a mosaic or something.
I tried to soothe things by using some special skin cleaner for acne skin.
Bigger mistake!
Not only did the checks get redder, but they were now shinning away as if they had been covered with clear fibreglass.
I sighed disappointedly and headed to the dinner table, knowing my celebratory evening was going to be dominated by talk about my checks.
I sat down to dinner and my dad (who never had acne when he was a teen and therefore never understood my situation) confirmed my worst fears by promptly making my bungled cheeks the topic of conversation for the next five minutes.
After that I made up a feeble excuse about my cheeks for the night ... I think it was that I got whacked twice in the footy game that afternoon ... and while the last performance (fortunately I was backstage staff) and the party went well, my cheeks certainly attracted the attention I wished they never had.
