I was 18yo and after completing high school, I decided that instead of going to university, I would have a year off to work and play, including a surf trip.

After a few months of working and saving, myself and a school mate headed off on our adventure ... which it sure was.

But as it was winter on our trip, the nights were fairly cold and so I used the sheep skin cover from my car seat as a base blanket to lie on.

Big mistake!

Each night I lay (topless) on this thing in the belief I would be warmer, but it must have been real dirty ... coz being a bloke, washing seat covers wasn't on my horizon of things to do in life ... so pimples just seemed to thrive, even though I was surfing most days and certainly showering well in the evening as that was a great way to get warm again after cold water surfing.

It made me more self-conscious than I should have been, especially when changing in and out of my wet suit, as well as making me uncomfortable at times with pimples in places that especially the wet suit top rubbed on.
