Frequent washing of the affected area as described in Cleanliness for General Acne Prevention is fairly much how blackheads are best treated once they have formed.
However, due to the very waxy nature of blackhead acne, even cleaning off the top blockage can be ineffective, as the clearish tail usually still blocks the pore.
For the face area, especially the nose, perserverance with the frequent washing is best - for all other areas, the squeezing technique for blackheads may be a more effective option.
