Squeezing Treatments for Multihead Acne

WARNING
Squeezing zits can be and usually is very painful,
often creating more immediate term visual mess than just having the acne
and can create scar-dimples that may be visible for months or even years afterwards.

The Cleanliness for General Acne Prevention techniques should be used as the first line of prevention and the preferred method of treatment.

The information about zit squeezing on this page and related links is to assist those who wish to squeeze their zits, do so in a manner that significantly raises the chances of success, while minimising the possibility of long term scaring.

This page should also be read in conjunction with the general guidelines for squeezing zits

SPECIFIC TECHNIQUES FOR SQUEEZING NODULE/CYST ACNE

For the face, favour the cleaning technique wherever possible.

Nodule/Cyst acne can be very difficult and painful to squeeze due to the existence of much clearish fluid AND the top layer/s of skin becoming relatively hard.

The techniques for squeezing whitehead acne also apply to nodule/cyst acne BUT as similar to multihead acne, nodule/cyst acne has a much greater level of pain involved, a higher level of squeezing difficulty (especially as the mini-pockets of fluid often need their own exit points), a very high probability of slow (or little) healing and resulting skin damage AND squeezing usually has to be repeated within a relatively short space of time, as the basic constitution of this acne type makes it almost impossible to get all the fluid out on the first attempts.

The washing techniques - even though some short term scabs usually result - are therefore a much more preferrable course of treatment for this type of acne, for the results are usually quicker, far less physically painful and have an almost nil probability of resulting scarring - patience and perservance with cleanliness can definitely be rewarded here.

Finally, I did get very despondent one time when the washing techniques seemed to not be working on a cyst/nodule. I considered going to a doctor to get the fluid extracted, as much as practical, by syringe. I felt that at least the forced drainage - no matter what the pain - would move the zit along, thereby giving me a new chance of getting rid of the nodule/cyst and then not getting it back. I didn't get the syringing done as I perservered a little longer with the washing and eventually - after going through some pain and visual ugliness - the nodule/cyst went. I pleased I perservered
